Sorry to post so much as a newbie, but I may be able to get a Nak PA-5 Stasis amp for around $200.00. Any opinions from the group? At one time I had a Nakamichi ZX9 cassette deck and it was top-o-the line-still is ,in fact.I know the Stasis technology was licensed from Threshold (Nelson Pass) but I don't know when Nak started to slide into "consumer electronics". BTW,I appreciate the forum's patience with my sponge-like assault on knowledge. Thanks to all.

I used to own that amp, well the PA-5 II . Really rock-solid, powerful and transparent. Can drive almost any load, and beautiful build quality. A classic from the Nakamichi golden years.

Thanks! So,do you think $200 is a good deal on the amp? It will end up powering a "starter" system for my daughter who loves music and isn't allowed to touch my stereo! Also looking at NAD 2200 and 2400 around the same price but I have no personal experience with NAD. If the Nak amp is half as good as their mid 80's cassette decks I'll be elated. Thanks again for the input,it helps a lot.Lee
