Congratulations on the new baby. I have one that is 11 months old. It really changes your life.

Anyway, back to the subject. I have one of these and see it as the best value I have ever seen in my 15+ years in this hobby. Check it out. Free shipping and very easy to put together (took me about 30 mins.).

don't miss post 16 in the link above

Here are some links to info and reviews on the Dayton subs. One link is to another forum where an SVS owner is comparing the two.
I am not anti-SVS. I think these two brands are both at the top in performance and value. However, if I could only lable one of these as a value, it would have to go to the Dayton kit.

Pete, please limit referbacks to other forums.

I'll admit, for 350, that looks like a nice lil' sub. I bet it's a pretty tight little performer for music, and can rumble a bit for theater. Probably all you'd want with a new baby. :B Or not, lol.

Hey, where did Brooksy go? I bet he either got a sub and knocked the house down or had the baby and is very busy changing poopy diapers.
Brooksy, let us know which way you go.

A few nights ago, I had a good opportunity to reconfigure the PB10-ISD. Actually, it was a frustrating experience, because:

                            1) The Sound and Vision test/setup disc would put out one level of LFE results.
                            2) My Home Theater Tune-up Disc would put out another set of levels.
                            3) The Pink noise from the receiver itself put out another set of LFE levels.

I sort of had to "average" the results from the 3 above sources and do the rest by ear. The result? Well, it's much more integrated now.

We ended up watching the movie Skeleton Key, which had a few intense moments to kick the sub into gear. This was essentially the first movie that I've gone through with the SVS being properly calibrated. Overall, quite an enjoyable experience.

Maybe, in my next life, I'll have like a gazillion dollars so I can have several subs to play with. Wishful thinking, I guess.

I think I'll say the titanic kit. I've heard it before and it sounded much better that the SVS that everyone's recommending. It was much cleaner and tighter.
